A Supportive, Person-Centred Approach to CBT
Many people worry that CBT will feel rigid, rushed, or overly focused on “fixing” problems. I work in a person-centred way, meaning therapy is shaped around you — your experiences, your pace, and what feels most important to explore for you. CBT tools are introduced collaboratively and gently, with space to talk things through, build understanding, and develop strategies that genuinely fit your life.
Therapy is:
-
Collaborative, not prescriptive
-
Compassionate and non-judgemental
-
Adapted to suit your needs, not a one-size-fits-all model
CBT is an evidence-based talking therapy that explores how thoughts, emotions, physical sensations, and behaviours interact. By understanding these patterns, CBT can help break unhelpful cycles and support meaningful, lasting change.
CBT is widely recommended by the NHS for anxiety-related difficulties, and can be effective for a wide range of emotional challenges.

How Many CBT Sessions Will I Need?
The number of CBT sessions varies from person to person. Many clients find that 6–20 sessions is helpful, depending on what they’re working through and their goals for therapy.
This is something we’ll discuss together and review as therapy progresses, ensuring the work feels helpful and aligned with your needs.
How Often Will Sessions Take Place?
CBT often works best when sessions begin weekly, especially at the start while building understanding and momentum. As confidence grows, some clients choose to move to fortnightly sessions.
Frequency is always decided collaboratively, based on what feels most supportive for you.
